David Robie, M.D.
Dr. David Robie is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in Sports Medicine. His practice emphasizes an arthroscopic approach to treat a broad range of applications for high-level athletes and weekend warriors. Dr. Robie specializes in the treatment of orthopedic problems of the upper and lower extremities, and performs joint replacement of the knee as well.
“The majority of my sports practice involves surgical reconstruction of the knee and shoulder, although the arthroscopic techniques also nicely address many problems of the elbow and ankle,” says Dr. Robie. “The potential for new techniques to make a real improvement in the quality of life of patients has never been better and has led to a worthwhile, rewarding style of medical practice. New technologies on the horizon include new methods of joint resurfacing, and the use of biologic agents to aid in joint restoration. This will revolutionize orthopedics over the next ten years."
Dr. Robie is a team physician for Whetstone High School, active with the Arthritis Foundation of Columbus and is a former board member of the Ohio Wildlife Center. He is active in covering ice hockey, wrestling, soccer, football and cross country sports, among other activities.
