Michael A. McShane, M.D.
Dr. McShane, of the Ohio Joint Replacement Institute at the Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence, is board certified and a fellowship trained specialist in total joint replacement surgery. He has performed thousands of hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgeries every year for arthritis, both locally and internationally. He is known worldwide for the highest standard of excellence in joint replacement surgery and patient care.
“I find it very rewarding to see patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life after years of pain,” says Dr. McShane. “Joint replacement surgery drastically improves patients’ overall well being and keeps them active and pain free. What makes my practice unique is that our patients receive personal physician care and attention from the initial appointment, through surgery and into the post operative period.” Dr. McShane's focus on peri-operative pain management, worldwide experience in developing implants, and teaching other surgeons new minimally invasive surgical techniques enables his patients to benefit from first class, state-of-the art care. Dr. McShane has received many professional awards and has authored numerous research articles to advance the science of total joint replacement. He frequently lectures nationally at professional gatherings of his peers. Dr. McShane is married and has four children.
