Our History
Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence began in 1965 as the small private practice of Dr.’s Carl Coleman, Melvin Olix, and Richard Ward. They started their practice determined to be honest with patients, colleagues, with each other, and to serve as mentors for young physicians. We try to follow in their steps. Please enjoy the below video for a close up and personal look at our founding physicians.
Today, Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence houses the largest number of orthopedic surgeons and specialists under one roof. “World Class Care and First Class Caring” describes the service and treatment that await you at this beautiful 104,000 square foot facility. We have Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Surgeons and Specialists in the areas of: Total Joint Replacement, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Hand Surgery, Foot & Ankle, and Spine Surgery. Additional services such as Digital Imaging (including X-Ray and MRI), Ambulatory Surgery Center, Full Service Rehabilitation, and a nonprofit Foundation provide for complete expert care from initial evaluation to testing to surgery to rehabilitation. Nestled into the historic neighborhood of Upper Arlington, our patients enjoy the convenient location along with ample parking.
For added convenience, Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence offers a satellite location in Dublin, Ohio, near the new Dublin Methodist Hospital. This smaller site offers another choice for physician visits and rehabilitation.
