Sports Medicine Fellowship
The Ohio Riverside Sports Medicine Foundation is offering a one-year Fellowship in sports medicine. The Fellow is involved with the Foundation director and other Fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and will achieve a well-rounded experience in operative cases and office management of sports injuries.
The Fellowship program provides an excellent balance of operative cases – approximately 40% shoulder/elbow, 40% knee and 20% foot/ankle. The Fellow also has the unique opportunity to customize their curriculum with a two-month elective rotation in the sub-specialty area of shoulder/elbow, knee or foot/ankle.
In total, the seven orthopedist physicians involved in Fellow training perform more than 2,000 cases annually, providing ample opportunity for surgical experience.
The Fellow will work on a one-to-one basis with an attending surgeon in the office, operating room, training room and on-field setting. The Fellow will be exposed to coverage of three local professional teams, colleges and high schools.
At least one major publication or presentation is required. A two-month period is dedicated solely to clinical or basic science research. A complete lab and a research assistant are available. Additional responsibilities include resident and medical student education.
All candidates must be graduates of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
Competitive salary, malpractice insurance and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.
